Perodua Myvi - The Passo Wannabe

Last Friday, a buddy of mine told me to take a look at his car and wondered if I can help to increase the gloss. So after much discussion, he dropped the car on Friday night. By the way, this car aint no Passo, its a Perodua Myvi.

So here goes. Not much was done on the interior and undercarriage; work was more focused on exterior and engine cleanup.

Holograms on the C pillar. Swirls on the spoiler




Some sanding marks were also found at the rear pillar.

Some light oxidization on both the headlights.

Detailed: Toyota VIOS 2008 BLACK (Picture Heavy) - My last 2009 Detail

Hi guys. Been some time from doing full details and writeup, but here we go.

The owner of this car is actually my brother. This is his Christmas and also New Year's gift. Its a FOC work.

The car has never been detailed properly, he only patrons those cheesy car wash; its cheap he says. LOL

So here are some pictures at arrival.

Proton Waja - Galaxy Grey - Transforming daily driven car to show room condition

Thought of sharing some work done on my car. The last full detail was on Oct 08; till today, its only washed and coupled with regular waxing every 2 weeks or so. The paint is not perfect. No major swirls but only odd random light scratches and the unavoidable water spots.

Since the workers doing the renovation took some time off to go deep sea fishing, I took the chance to clean my car.

So here goes.

Washing Stage:

Started by washing the engine bay.

Tools & Products used:

Pressure Washer
Air Compressor
Demoted MFs
Terry Towels
Numerous brushes

Osren APC (I ran out of Megs APC )
D151 to do general cleaning
HyperDressing on rubber/plastic parts
M40 on seals around the engine bay
NXT All Metal Cleaner for chrome bits

UGLY METALLIC BLACK - Toyota Passo wannabe -- Perodua Myvi

Its a Perodua Myvi Metallic Black. Owned by another friend that used to have his own car wash company. It just came out of the bodyshop as certain parts of the car had been repainted (meaning its fresh paint, barely 3 days out from the oven). Initially he told me the bodyshop already polish it for him and it was already shinny so I was hoping it was in a acceptable form - but when it arrived at my place, boy it sure does look ugly..

At first, I though maximum of 16hours would suffice to get it back to a better level, but I encountered buffer hop and the polish was gumming up faster than normal. But a tweak in polishing method and also the product application process helped to solve it.

I spent a minimum 16hours on the paint itself plus another 8hours on other parts (engine, interior, wheels, etc) - span of 3 days.

K-Car - Metallic Purple - Perodua Kenari

Finally I got a friend that does not mind his car being posted online.


Background: The car is rebadged model of the Daihatsu Move. Locally its called Perodua Kenari. The car had been repainted 2 months ago from Red to Metallic Purple.

The owner was not satisfied with the outcome as he mentioned that the reflection was blurry. So after a length discussion, he settled for a simple detail session.

As I was pressed for time, pictures are in very small numbers. Plus, weather was not great, sunny in the morning and started to rain in late afternoon till night time.


Spent around 20 hours on the car (2 days span) and polishing more like 8-10hours.

Toyota Vigo - Modified for Power - Complete Interior Detail

This is my best friends car and he's getting married on the 27th Dec. So, I thought of giving him a wedding present by detailing his car and he said yes!

He really love this car. Modified it as soon as it went out of the delivery bay. Power chips, larger turbo, uprated diesel pump, nozzle upgrade, front mount intercooler, blow valve, better suspension, bigger exhaust pipe...etc

Tested this car before and its quite fast

So, on with the show,



Day 1 - send it in sometime around 4pm

The car at arrival was quite dirty from dirt & mud. He likes to send the car for good wash and polish&wax job but I was surprised to see some MAJOR mistakes done by these pro shops. I'm not bashing but to me this is unacceptable. See the pics to know what I mean ya.

Toyota Vigo - Metallic Silver - Big Suprise Inside Engine Compartment

One of the friends parents sent over his car to be properly cleaned. So took me around 1.5 days to do all the stuff as I'm still not feeling well. Once I'm done with this car, I'm gonna take a short break....


Anyhow, vet through and I have a big surprise for you guys!
The car is still new. If not mistaken its 2005 model. Apologize for the very small amount of pictures.
