Proton Satria Neo - CPS - White - New Car Reconditioning

Here is another client's car which was still brand new (less then 5k KM on the odo) and wanted his car to be taken cared of, the proper way.

We corrected the defects on the paint, cleaned the engine and gave the interior a good general cleanup plus other minor work.

Here's the condition when it arrived at my studio (sent in around 10pm). Pictures were taken on the next day - 7am ish.

Wheels covered with brake dust and dirt.

Dirt stuck on the under the wheel arch. Rainy season here.

Probably caused by wrong washing technique

Rear boot hinge - dirt accumulated during transport.

Dealer installed swirls - breaks my heart to see the condition of new cars.

Wheel arch nuts were stained with gunk, tape & wax residue.

First up, the engine bay.

Here are some shots depicting the cleanup process for the engine bay.

Generally ok from far.

Motor Oil residue

Dirt, tar spots and grease spots near the engine mounting area

Lots of grease accumulated under the hood.

Cowl area

Cleaning was done with proper cleaners (Meguiars) and coupled with necessary tools to get it to a better level.

Painted areas were treated with Body Solvent & detailing clay (tar spots), polished with D151 and protected with hi temp sealant. All plastic components under the hood were protected with Meguiar's water based dressings.

Here are the results from few hours of engine work.

All bolts are now free of grease/gunk/dirt.

No more grease

Brake reservoir in a better condition.

No more tar spots on the suspension tower.

Matte and non greasy finish. Looking uber nice.

Much better compared to previous state.

After settling the engine compartment, we proceed to process the exterior body of the car.

Whole car was prewashed via foam cannon with custom mix of cleansers to loosen or remove any existing wax/sealant, dirt and other contaminants.

Then rewashed with Meguiars HyperWash.

Some pictures taken during the washing stage.

Tires were degreased and deep cleaned with necessary cleaning solution.

All the seams were cleaned with proper detailing brush.

Sign of protection on the paint has significantly diminish. Water goes flat and does not sheet off quickly.

Leaves stuck in between rubber moldings and front windscreen. Had to pick out each and every one of them.

Owner mentioned a scratch on the hood. Not so severe; correctable without much comprise on clear coat thickness.

The vehicle suffer from heavy tar spots on all the lower panel. Body solvent and detailing clay definitely required.

Front hood.

Roof

Embedded dirt from windscreen.

After deep cleansing the paint, reveals the true condition of the paint; metal halide is used to heighten paint defects.

Closeup

Light holograms on the hood. Yum!

Did a test spot to confirm combo works. M205 & G220 via KBM worked like a charm on these Alesco paint. Therefore, combo replicated onto other panels.

Before

After:

Notice the clarity of the LED's reflection.

After completing the paint surfaces, bright works were next on the list.

Before:

Tailpipes looking dull and sad.

After:

Metal polish to restore some clarity and shine on the tailpipes.

Wiper blades were also cleaned with rubber cleaner.

On the other hand, Interior part was given a thorough vac, wipedown of APC on plastic & leather surfaces and followed by Meguiars Leather Conditioner for the seats and door inserts.

Finally, after everything has been double checked to ensure no missed spots.

Parting shots taken before the client picks it up.

B Pillar in a better condition then before. Free of oxidization and now protected with high quality wax.

No sun shots as it was nearing 6pm.

Looking uber wet.

Glossy

Love these shots.

By the way, LSP of choice was Collinite D'Elegance #915, glass with Rain X and wheels on 1000P. Door jambs and other intricate places were protected with Optimum Car Wax.
